Riding in Spain

Spanish cycling has it all. The Vuelta a España brings some of the steepest summit finishes in pro racing. Girona has become home to pro riders from around the world. Mallorca, Tenerife and the Costa Blanca fill up with teams and amateurs every winter, chasing sunshine and long climbs while the rest of Europe shivers.

With that much sun, a bright, bold kit just makes sense.

Roads worth the trip

Sa Calobra, Mallorca. A snaking road that twists down to the sea and back up again, complete with a famous loop that passes under itself. One of the most photographed climbs in cycling.

Alto de l'Angliru, Asturias. A Vuelta legend with ramps over 20%. One for the brave, or the curious.

Mount Teide, Tenerife. Long climbs up the volcano through lunar landscapes, used by pro teams for altitude training.

Rocacorba, Girona. The local test piece for Girona's pro and amateur riders, a steady climb with a sting near the top.

What to wear, season by season

Much of Spain is rideable all year. A short sleeve kit covers most months in the south and the islands, while a long sleeve kit is welcome on winter mornings in the north and the mountains. A windbreaker earns its place on high descents.

Every Nordvelo design comes in men's and women's fits. Shop men's kit or women's kit.
